About Us
I hope you like what you see and that it encourages you to consider Take A Look Photography. Our aim is to capture the spirit of the day and to present you with a portfolio of images that you will cherish.
From a formal photographic background I spent my formative years freelancing in the film and television industry – perfecting my techniques. My commissions were varied and included documentaries, commercials, feature films, and television drama. I learnt about:
Lighting
Composition
Attention to detail
How to tell a story in pictures
How to think on my feet – something that is pretty essential when you consider the spontaneity of a wedding. I enjoy, ( along with my wife / co photographer and designer), producing a happy mix of formal and reportage photographs but will always be guided by you to ensure we stay true to your character and wishes.
With over 20 years experience in professional wedding photography we still get a tremendous satisfaction capturing a wedding and use our individual skills to portray the evident happiness, fun and humour as the day unfolds.
Before the wedding I recommend two face to face meetings so that I can fully understand your requirements and for you to meet and feel relaxed with me. I will make suggestions but more importantly will listen to you – ensuring that our photographs fully reflect your personalities. Prior to the second consultation, I will visit the venue to familiarise myself with lighting and setting requirements – this also gives me the opportunity to consider any potential challenges that may occur. No amount of planning will cover the unexpected – the key is being flexible and I pride myself on being adept at this.
As a full-time professional photographer I carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. I also carry back up cameras of the same type. I am a member of The Society of Wedding Photographers and the Guild of British Camera Technicians.
