Easiest for me just to copy / paste email I sent to Edgar after his home inspection: I couldn't be more pleased with you services. You addressed all of my worry points with the new house and gave me the satisfaction of knowing that everything was reviewed by a much more discerning and educated eye than my own. Prior to the inspection I had casually voiced my priorities for what I was concerned about and had just assumed that you might miss one or two of my hot button items. To my surprise you not only took the care to look into all of my concerns, but did so in a very thoughtful manner. In the past I have come across two types of home inspectors - those in the pockets of the realtors, and those looking to prove what great detectives they are. The "realtor inspectors' major concern is to just give the appearance of a thoughtful inspection, but the overriding priority is to not break the deal and cut off future referrals from the realtor. The "great detectives" I think take pride in the opposite. They go so far as to overstate unimportant items purely to satisfy their ego and be the savior by breaking deals. When I was doing my research I had chosen you because I had gotten the impression that you migh be different, and I am very glad to say that I was right. After meeting with you and reading your report I really got the feeling that your overriding concern was to be my advocate, which after all, is what I was looking for in a home inspector in the first place. Hopefully we wont be moving again any time soon, but I will make sure to keep your number around in case anybody asks me for a referral.
